Updating builder cabinets
After the glue was completely dry, we painted it the same color as the cabinets (which we painted as well? I will share how we did that later this week as I have had several questions from some of you). We recently updated our Master Bathroom by making a few simple changes. And if any of you have ever done a little remodeling, you know how long it can take to get to some of them.I have shared a few of the changes in some past posts as it is a work in progress. Today I want to share with you how we went about updating builder grade cabinets.
I just degrease and scuff the area just a smidge and this stuff latches right on. This is the same paint I used on the mirror frame, and the same paint I’m using on all the trim and interior doors throughout the house. To frost the glass insert, I started with using a glass etching cream. There are tons of different ways to paint oak cabinets and the way we did it is one among many.I found the tutorial from Young House Love quite helpful but even did a few things differently after talking to a man at our local paint store. One of the biggest changes you can make in your kitchen that will give you bang for your buck is updating oak cabinets. As you can see in the before pictures of our new home, there was a whole lot of oak going on.From tutorials that I had read, I knew painting cabinets would be a lot of work but I have also seen how it completely transforms a kitchen.
